All memberships are for one year, effective the month received by the Slate Valley Museum. Memberships are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. Simply click on the button below to join or renew online!

Individual Membership (benefits for one person) - $35/$30 for senior citizens

Become a Volunteer


We welcome volunteers at the Slate Valley Museum. Volunteer positions include docents, collections assistants, Museum Shop attendants, buildings and grounds workers, research assistants, office workers, and special events assistants. Some jobs require a regular commitment while others are for a specific project or event.

Donate 

Our Museum is what it is because of our community. Through the generous donations of our members and the Slate Valley Museum community we are able to curate exhibits and put on events and fundraisers based on the interests of our supporters and community members. 

If you would like to make a donation to our Annual Fund, please click on the link to the left to make your secure payment online. 
Legacy Tiles - Slate Floor Mosaic in the Clare O'Brien Program Room

You can still become part of the museum’s spectacular, permanent slate floor exhibit, but space is running out! Your donation of $500 to the Slate Valley Museum Foundation entitles you to a 12 x 12 slate floor tile with your choice of etched text. Your name, your family name, your loved one, your business or your organization will be remembered as a valuable partner in preserving the history of the Slate Valley.

Personalized tiles will be installed to form a border around the slate mosaic centerpiece. Your tile $500 donation is tax deductible.

Donate from Our Wish List


If you'd like to donate something tangible to the museum, consider purchasing an item or items from our wish list.


The wish list generally includes items, equipment, and tools for office, facility, and grounds use that don't generally make it into our operating budget.

  • Gift certificates to local nurseries or plant centers (to support our buildings and grounds revitalization efforts)


  • Slate! We are also always willing to discuss donations of slate tiles, new or reclaimed from old structures, and other slate items that can be used for programs. Our storage space is limited, but we always appreciate the opportunity to explore gifts that can be used in hands-on programming here at the museum.
